Does Penrith need its own council?

Residents of Penrith will soon have an important decision to make, do they want Penrith to have its own Town Council.

A consultation by Eden District Council will be underway in March and it is important that every Penrithian has their say. Two public forums have been arranged to discuss the issues. They are :

Wednesday 26th March Penrith Rugby Club

Tuesday 8th April St. Andrews Parish Rooms

Both meetings will start at ? o'clock in the evening and there will be opportunities to hear arguments for and against the creation of a Town Council.
