Thursdays County Council meetings saw the approving of the Council Plan for the next three years. This plan details how the County Council will deal with the issues facing Cumbria. Peter Thornton proposed an amendment which would have led to more economic development in Eden and South Lakeland.

Penrith and The Border LIberal Democrats are calling on Cumbria County Council to resolve the question of who should be clearing pavements in our area. The County Council are only committed to clearing 4 Penrith pavements - all the others reamain uncleared no matter what the weather. Many Town Councils are willing to take on this work but require assurances that they will not be liable if someone slips and falls.
